SuperPro Designer v8 (Evaluation Version)
The evaluation version of SuperPro Designer allows you to open any example file and create and save flowsheets with up to two unit procedures.
This version of SuperPro is
suitable for test-driving the application and developing a good sense of its capabilities.
IMPORTANT: The current version of the SuperPro installation script is not
compatible with 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7. A 64-bit version
will become available later this year. If you do not have access to a
32-bit machine, you may simply download the manual and help facility of SuperPro
(see below). They provide thorough information on the capabilities of the tool.
STEP 1: Right click here
and select "Save Target As" to download the posted zip installation file and
save it on your computer (File Name =
SPDv80b07_EvalEd.zip, Size = 70 MB) . Then unzip the download into a directory of your choice (e.g., C:\SPDFiles). That will generate a number of files in the
SPDFiles directory.
Make sure you check the "Use folder names" option of WinZip before you unzip the
download to preserve the sub-directory structure. Also, make sure that the
SPDFiles
directory is located at the top level of a drive (e.g., C:\ or D:\) and not on
the Desktop of the computer.
STEP 2: Run the installation script: SETUP.exe in the SPDFiles directory. That will install the software and create a program group in the Start Button.
If you are installing the application on a Vista or Windows 7 machine,
right-click on SETUP.exe and select "Run as administrator" instead of
double-clicking on SETUP.exe.
Please make sure you logon as an administrator before you run the installation
script. Otherwise, the installation may not be completed and as a result you may
not be able to run the application. SuperPro requires a PC with a Pentium II
processor (800 MHz or faster), 512 MB of RAM, 400 MB of free HD space, running
Windows 2000, XP, Vista or W7.
If you install the software on Windows Vista or 7 machines, the
first time you run it do the following. Locate the Designer.exe file in the
“SuperPro Designer” installation directory, right-click on it and select “Run as
Administrator”. That will eliminate some confusing warnings. In the future you
may run the application by selecting its short-cut (the regular way).
On-Line Help Facility: To download SuperPro's on-line Help Facility, please
click here and select the "Save" option
on the dialog that pops up. The posted zip file has a size of 90 MB. Please
unzip the file into your SuperPro Designer directory (where the Designer.exe
file is located).
Manual for On-Line Reading: To download SuperPro's full manual as an e-book (in pdf format), please
click here and select the "Save" option
on the dialog that pops up. The posted zip file has a size of 70 MB.
Please unzip the file into your SuperPro Designer directory (where the
Designer.exe file is located). The first part of Chapter 2 (Tutorial) includes a simple example that you
may go through with the Evaluation version. Please note that you will need Acrobat
v6.0 or later for all the links to function properly.
Manual for Printing: If you wish to print out the manual, please
to download a condensed version of the manual in PDF format (without all the
appendices). This version is equivalent to the hardcopy that is shipped with new
orders.
SchedulePro v4 (Evaluation Version)
The evaluation version of SchedulePro allows you to open, modify, and test-drive any
SchedulePro file, including all the examples that come with the software. Saving
of files is disabled and there is a 2-hour limit per session. This version of
SchedulePro is
suitable for test-driving the application and developing a good sense of its capabilities.
Documentation: To download SchedulePro's full manual (in pdf format), please
click here and choose the "Save" option on
the dialog that pops up. The posted zip file has a size of 5 MB. Chapter 4 is a
tutorial that walks you through a number of simple scenarios. In addition, the
evaluation version of SchedulePro includes the following examples that come with
detailed ReadMe files in PDF format. To download the ReadMe files
of the examples, please click here.
1) Bio-Pilot-Plant: It focuses on modeling and scheduling of
biopharmaceutical facilities.
2) Ice-Cream: It explains how to optimize the scheduling of a facility
that manufactures a wide variety of ice cream products.
3) Pharma-Tablets: It deals with modeling and scheduling of a facility
that manufacturers pharmaceutical tablets.
4) Capacity-Analysis: It explains how to handle capacity analysis and
long term planning.
5) Fill Finish: It deals with scheduling and planning of a fill-finish facility
(vial manufacturing).
Installation:
and choose the "Run" option on the dialog that pops up. Then, simply follow the
installation instructions. Please note that it is important to logon with
administrate privileges for the installation to succeed. SchedulePro requires a
PC with a Pentium II processor (800 MHz or faster), 512 MB of RAM, 100 MB of
free HD space, running Windows 2000, XP or Vista.
Installation Notes
Installation on Windows 2000: If, during installation, you get an error message that reads "Database access pre-installation test failed. You must install the appropriate MDAC update ....", click here to download a set of files that will enable you to install the appropriate MDAC on your machine. Detailed instructions on the installation procedure can be found in the ReadMe file, which is a help-type of file, included in
spdv75b05_EvalEd.zip (the file you downloaded in STEP 1). Run the ReadMe file, click on "Installing the MDAC Update", which is the second topic on the list, and follow the instructions.
If you run into any problems or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
The evaluation versions of SuperPro and SchedulePro are also available on a CD for $50 (Visa and Master Cards are accepted).
