When you are installing SuperPro Designer on a PC as an administrator and expect more than one users to have access to the software, please note the following:
If all users are going to be logging in to the same PC then either version of SuperPro Designer (with or without a protection key) can be installed.
If some (or all) of the application's users may be logging in remotely, or you are installing the program remotely on many PCs, only the non-protected version of the software will work. The protected version of the software will expect each client PC to have a protection key (dongle) attached to it. SuperPro Designer does not currently support a network-based protection scheme where the protection key is attached to a server and can support a given number of seats (functioning clients). If you are interested in getting non-protected version of your software (site-license version), that does not require the presence of a protection key, please contact Intelligen Inc.
If you installing the program on multiple PCs (remotely or otherwise) then follow the instructions as if you are installing the application on a single PC. Please pay particular attention to the following details:
If you are going to change the default installation location for the program, then it must be in an area that is accessible by all possible users.
The "Auxiliary Folder" where the database files (and the example and batch sheet template files) are copied, must be in an are that is public (accessible by all users for reading and writing). By default they are installed in a "DBases" folder under a public area of the PC ("C:\Users\Public\Documenrts\Intelligen\SuperPro Designer\v15"). The location for EACH database is NOT user-selectable during installation. After installation, a user may opt to relocate any database, but most likely the User DB, to an area that is private to his/her own profile (as a user) and direct the application to use those files during its normal operation (for details on how to do this task, check the program's online help under "Databanks".
If there's no such public area available to all users, then the Administrator must mirror all entries made in the ODBC/System area of the registry under EACH user's ODBC profile, with database locations appropriate for each user. This will also work, and allow the program to boot up (when run from within each user's profile)
If you need a single-file installer "exe" or a "single-msi" script file to use for remote installation, then please review Remote Installation.
