Very often, single license owners opt (or are required) to have their company's Systems Administrator to install the software on their PC(s). If this is how the software is installed, you should know the following:
After you login as 'Administrator' proceed with the installation of the software and if asked, select "Anyone Who Uses This Computer" or "All Users". If you don't want to make this application available to other possible users of the PC, then you must exit the installation, logout and then assign to the user for whom you make the installation (temporarily) administrative privileges, login again (as the user) restart the installation and this time select "Only for Me" (or, "for <UserName>").
You should know that none of the applications' components are being installed under the logged in user's profile, so it should make no difference as to who is logged in during installation. The application's executables are written under the "Program Files (x86)" area (by default), several other application data files (incl. database files) are written under the "Public Documents" area and the application's temporary folder is assumed under the common "Program Data" folder (hidden by default in Win7, Win8/8.1, Win10 and Win11) or "All Users/Application Data" (for older Windows versions). Furthermore, no part of the user's registry is being accessed during installation: For example, the user's name and institution's (or company's) name as well as other information related to the installation process are written under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Intelligen key.

The application accesses the (logged in) user's registry profile when it executes (during startup and at various other instances during its normal operation). This allows for the logged-in user to customize its behavior for him/herself alone. For example, some of the user preferences on defaults are saved there. Also, if needed, the database location(s) can be moved and become private to this user by copying the database files from the common (public) area to an area only available to this user and informing the application about the new location (for details on how to do this, please view the topic: Database Locations, Passwords, etc. in the online help or the PDF manual of SuperPro Designer). |
